We’re delighted to be unveiling our second CT scanner, which has been installed at our Ellesmere Port surgery. Our first CT scanner was installed at our Bolton 24/7 surgery and helps to diagnose pets every day.
Now, owners and their pets from across the Wirral and North Wales have access to affordable CT scanning directly from our Ellesmere Port surgery.
Speaking about the exciting improvement, lead vet at the surgery, James Portsmouth says; ‘’By offering this advanced imaging service in-house, it eliminates the need for pet owners to travel to our Bolton surgery or long distances to referral centres. This is another fantastic step in our journey to making affordable not-for-profit care accessible.’’
James continues; ‘’Owners who visit our Birkenhead, Wrexham and Shrewsbury surgeries can also access our new service, as well as pets who have never visited us before — we’re open to everyone and there is no eligibility criteria to meet.’’
Commonly used in human medicine, CT scanning provides a 3D picture of an animal’s bones and organs, which is incredibly useful when diagnosing complex conditions including soft tissue and orthopaedic injuries. As part of our commitment to providing accessibly-priced care to pets, we offer CT scanning for a fixed cost of up to £725.
