Exciting opportunities at Animal Trust - Join a dynamic social enterprise

At Animal Trust, we love helping our patients and clients, providing care to tens of thousands of cats and dogs every year across our community surgeries. No day is the same at Animal Trust. Exciting, interesting and varied, somewhere where you can make a tangible difference to patients’ lives. In fact, for thousands of pets every year we’re the one place they can access care. We are literally their lifesaver.

With good facilities and skilled teams, we are able to diagnose and treat a wide variety of case types under one roof. With high-quality ultrasound, CT, endoscopy and complex orthopaedics in house, you have the opportunity to continuously develop your skills and contribute to animal welfare.

Why join Animal Trust?

We asked James, one of our Lead Vets, what he thought about the culture at Animal Trust and the reasons he looks forward to coming to work every day.

What do we look for?

Our dedicated vets and veterinary nurses love our mission, to make good veterinary care accessible. We look for candidates with a social heart, who are passionate about helping pets get the care their owners couldn’t otherwise afford.

Experienced vets and nurses

As we expand to open more surgeries, we’re looking for leaders and clinical experts to help us grow. Our large practices are structured to allow specialisation for vets and RVNs in consulting, surgery and inpatient care. Our out of hours provision guarantees continuity of cases, and because of our not-for-profit pricing structure, we don’t have so many workup limitations.

If you’re a veterinary surgeon, practice manager or nurse looking for a new and refreshing challenge, browse our open positions below and get in touch. Love a challenge? #loveveterinary

Newly qualified and graduate vets

New Graduates at Animal Trust are supported with designated mentors for advice, additional time for cases and the benefit of a varied caseload where you can transform the knowledge you’ve learnt at vet school into practicable skills that deliver for pets and are rewarding for you.

You’ll be part of a large, experienced team, and you’ll soon build new friendships that will support you through your early career. You’ll also have regular meetings with your seniors to ensure your voice is always heard.

We’re also proud to continually be investing in our surgeries, meaning you will always have access to the right equipment and facilities to be the best vet you can be. Can’t wait to get started? Take a look at our graduate programme

Why choose Animal Trust

To love being a vet

We work in big, busy surgeries meaning you're surrounded by an incredible range of cases. Be part of a large successful team of like-minded people who'll value your ideas, and provide support at every step of your and your patients' journey.

To focus on what matters

We don’t set individual ‘sales’ targets, allowing you to be a clinician, not a salesperson. Patients are advised based on the best option for them, regardless of the best financial option for Animal Trust.

To shape the future

We believe that owning a pet should not just be a privilege of the wealthy – we want to change the veterinary industry in the UK. Our vet jobs are about serving our patients and communities and developing our people so they love their job.

Let's find out more about our new Values

Breaking Down Barriers

We do everything we can to help the wider population of pets access care, and we’ll always find a solution to allow a sick pet to be seen. We give owners a straightforward choice and are transparent in our pricing.

One Community

Social inclusiveness and poverty reduction matter to us. We are efficient with the resources we have, and care about environmental protection and climate change.

Never Stop Learning

We want to keep improving, and to help others to be the best version of themselves.

Trust

We build trust through responsible actions and honest relationships. We treat every person and pet as we would want to be treated ourselves. We trust our colleagues and have their backs – we can only succeed as a team.

Why Animal Trust?

As a new graduate vet, it was important for me to find a surgery that would allow me to work independently and grow my skills, while still providing support and guidance whenever I needed it. Animal Trust has definitely fulfilled this, and every day I feel valued. The caseload is so varied and I’m encouraged to make my own decisions while knowing that my team are always approachable and supportive. My lead vet will always take time to feedback on my performance and values my opinion, which makes me feel comfortable and appreciated in the working environment.

Why Animal Trust?

I joined Animal Trust because I wanted to be part of something exciting and fast growing. The company has always encouraged me to progress myself and has invested in my development. Since joining, I’ve grown my independence, confidence and have become Lead Veterinary Nurse. I’m lucky to be part of a team that really value each other; we all agree that we’re here because we care about providing the best possible service to animals while keeping our costs affordable. Seeing the difference we make to a pet’s and owner’s lives as a not-for-profit team is so satisfying. The company continues to invest back into the surgeries to ensure that we always have the best possible resources available.
