Sorpresa has pancreatic tumour removed

Dog has pancreatic tumour removed

This is Sorpresa, an eleven-year-old terrier cross. Sorpresa was referred to Animal Trust Ellesmere Port due to a suspected insulinoma. Insulinoma is a type of tumour in the pancreas that releases insulin resulting in dangerously low blood sugar. This was causing her to have episodes of weakness and collapse.

Sorpresa underwent a scan with a specialist sonographer before the removal of the tumour. The tumour was removed successfully, and Sorpresa was discharged the following day with normal blood sugars and has continued to recover well at home, enjoying comfort, rest, and plenty of gentle affection from her family.
