    Roles Overview

    We are seeking a seasoned Lead Veterinary Surgeon to guide our clinical team at the Bolton facility, Greater Manchester. This role is crucial for maintaining high clinical standards and fostering a supportive environment that aligns with the Animal Trust values. As a leader, you'll ensure the smooth operation of the clinic, optimise performance, and uphold our commitment to affordable veterinary care.

    Key Responsibilities

    Lead and mentor a team of veterinary professionals, ensuring they are equipped to provide exceptional care. Work collaboratively with the Practice Manager and Lead Nurse to manage day-to-day operations effectively. Monitor and evaluate clinic performance through Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and Profit & Loss (P&L) statements to drive operational success. Conduct performance management activities, including 1-2-1 meetings and staff reviews, to foster professional growth within the team. Oversee clinical governance, ensuring compliance with standards and continuous improvement in clinical practices.

    Skills and Qualifications

    Qualified Veterinary Surgeon with extensive clinical experience and a strong passion for veterinary care. Proven leadership skills with experience in coaching and mentoring staff. Excellent communication skills, able to engage effectively with both clients and team members. Business acumen, with an interest or experience in managing financial aspects of a clinic (experience with KPIs and P&L preferred but not essential). Desirable: VetGDP advisor qualification or willingness to obtain it.
