Orthopaedic Surgery at Animal Trust
At Animal Trust, we know that if your pet needs orthopaedic care it can be a stressful time for both of you. We’re proud to be specialists in providing the highest standard of orthopaedic care for pets, whether it’s as part of emergency vet care or to repair a long-standing condition.
At our surgeries, our teams understand the importance of an accurate diagnosis, swift treatment and the best aftercare, so you can rest assured you and your pet are in the best hands at Animal Trust. We offer orthopaedic surgery at our Shrewsbury, Bolton, and Ellesmere Port locations.
What does an orthopaedic vet do?
At Animal Trust, we perform hundreds of orthopaedic operations every year and are able to offer a wide range of procedures to our patients. This includes repair of fractures, cruciate repair with Securos TTA system and Biomedtrix Total Hip Replacement.
Some of the services and conditions we provide treatment for include:
- Trauma fracture repair
- Limb deformity correction
- Cruciate ligament surgery
- Osteoarthritis treatment
- Patella luxation
- Sprain and other joint-related injuries
When you book an appointment for orthopaedic advice or care, the team at your Animal Trust surgery will perform a thorough initial assessment to make sure we know exactly what your pet needs. We’ll go through a treatment plan and answer any questions you may have, and the team will discuss aftercare options (such as medication and potential other treatments like physiotherapy or hydrotherapy, for example) so you know we’re always on hand.

How to book orthopaedic veterinary care with Animal Trust
You don’t need to be a pre-existing member of Animal Trust to benefit from orthopaedic advice and treatment from our veterinary teams.
As well as operating on patients who regularly attend Animal Trust surgeries, we also help patients who have been seen at other practices – particularly where their normal vet is unable to offer the appropriate orthopaedic service, or is unable to offer it at an accessible cost.
Animal Trust operates on a not for profit basis, and providing affordable treatment for those who need it most is at the heart of everything we do. So whether it’s cat knee surgery or advice from an orthopaedic vet for dogs, we’d love to help.
