Gino the Dachshund has IVDD surgery at Animal Trust Bolton

Gino’s owners brought him to Animal Trust Bolton after they noticed his mobility was not normal and he seemed to be in pain. He was diagnosed with chronic spinal cord compression caused by Intervertebral Disc Disease (IVDD), a condition that’s especially common in Dachshunds.
Gino underwent surgery (a hemilaminectomy) with vet surgeon Viktoria, to relieve the pressure on his spinal cord. Just two days later, he was home with pain relief and crate rest to aid his recovery. Within two months, his mobility had improved significantly, and he was back to enjoying life on four paws.
If your dog shows signs of back pain or difficulty walking, early diagnosis and treatment can make all the difference. Contact our team for advice or an appointment.
