Pet A&E: Surgery after Road Traffic Accident for Gizmo

Gizmo: Emergency Surgery at Ellesmere Port Pet A&E

Gizmo is a 1-year-old British Shorthair who recently went through a truly frightening ordeal after being involved in a road traffic accident. The impact left him with several serious injuries, including a tear in his diaphragm, a broken jaw and a fractured hip. It was a critical situation that required urgent and expert care.

Gizmo was brought to our Ellesmere Port hospital, where our dedicated inpatient team acted quickly to stabilise him. Under the careful supervision of vet Chloe, he underwent multiple complex surgeries, including repairing his diaphragm, wiring his jaw, and fixing his fractured hip. Throughout his treatment, Gizmo showed remarkable resilience, and our team worked tirelessly to ensure he had the best possible chance of recovery.

We’re delighted to share that Gizmo is now on the mend. He’s back home with his loving family, enjoying plenty of cuddles, tasty treats, and well-earned rest as he continues his journey to full recovery. His bravery and the support of our team have truly made all the difference, and we couldn’t be happier to see him doing so well.
