Sophie the cat's life-changing mass removal surgery

Meet Sophie, a nine-year-old Russian Blue who came to see us at Animal Trust Vets Ellesmere Port. Her owner had noticed a small mass developing on her jaw. Although it was slow-growing, it could have soon made eating and drinking difficult for her.
At our Ellesmere Port hospital, Sophie was seen by Dylan, our RCVS and European Specialist in Small Animal Surgery. After a careful assessment, Dylan recommended removing part of her jaw along with the mass to minimise the chances of it returning and to give her the best chance of a full recovery.
We’re so happy to share that Sophie’s surgery went brilliantly. She has made a full recovery, is back to enjoying her meals, and so far, there are no signs of the mass returning.
