Preparing for Your Pet’s Appointment

At Animal Trust, we want your visit to be as smooth and stress-free as possible, for both you and your pet. Here’s everything you need to know before you arrive.

What to Bring
To help our team provide the best possible care, please bring the following:

  • Any relevant paperwork, especially if your pet is undergoing treatment—this may include insurance documentation or referral notes.

  • Any medications your pet is currently taking, including supplements or ongoing prescriptions.

Checking In When You Arrive
There’s no need to wait at the reception desk. When you enter the practice, you can simply use one of our self-check-in kiosks to let us know you’ve arrived. It’s quick, easy, and helps our team prepare for your appointment straight away. If you need any help using the kiosk, just ask—our team is always happy to assist.

Keeping Your Pet Safe in the Waiting Room
Dogs: Please keep your dog on a lead and under control at all times while in the waiting room.
Cats and other pets: For their safety and comfort, please keep your pet securely in a carrier throughout your visit.

Who You May See
Not all appointments will be with a vet. Your pet will be seen by the most appropriate member of our clinical team, which may include one of our qualified and experienced veterinary nurses. Rest assured, they’re highly trained and here to help.

Payments
Animal Trust is a cashless organisation. We accept card payments only, and all treatments must be paid for at the time of your appointment.

Accidents Happen
If your pet urinates or fouls in the waiting room, just let a member of staff know. We understand—it can be a stressful environment for them.

Kindness Helps Us Care
We understand that visiting the vet can sometimes be stressful and our team is here to support you and your pet with care and compassion. To protect our staff and clients, we operate a zero tolerance policy for abusive language, aggression, or threatening behaviour.

And Finally…
Try not to worry if your pet behaves differently during their visit. Being in an unfamiliar place can make even the calmest pets feel anxious or excited. We see this every day, and our team is here to support both you and your pet with patience, compassion and understanding.
