We recently held the Animal Trust Heroes Awards – designed to recognise our amazing employees for the work they do, each and every day. We had six award categories and colleagues were encouraged to nominate their workmates for the category they felt most relevant. We received more than 400 nominations – which just goes to show that we have some pretty fantastic people working here!
We’ve listed the winner of each award category below:
Going Above and Beyond Award – who has gone the extra mile and is always there when you need them? This colleague always aims high and never accepts second-best.
The winner of this award is – Paula, Veterinary Surgeon at our Ellesmere Port surgery
“She always aims high and never accepts second-best. Clinically she strives for the best – she takes time to look into cases past and present to ensure she is doing all she can for her patients.”
Unsung Hero Award – who is the quiet yet shining star of the team, the individual who makes a big difference but never seeks the spotlight. Now is the time to give this colleague their moment in the spotlight.
And the winner is – Chloe, Veterinary Auxiliary Support Assistant at our Dewsbury surgery.
“She is always right there to help, nothing is ever too much trouble, she never asks for anything just gets on with stuff quietly and efficiently.”
Class Clown Award – this is the person who is a ray of sunshine and their positive vibes cheer everyone up and keep us all smiling!
And the winner is… Chantelle, Client Service Advisor at our Bolton surgery.
“No matter how bad or slow the day is, this person always brings a smile to everyone’s face. She has a good outlook in making you feel better about any situation.”
Living Our Values Award – This colleague consistently lives the values and is a shining beacon of doing the right thing.
The winner is – Amanda, Veterinary Nurse at our Blackburn surgery.
“She is fair and consistent with her decisions. They are accessible to the team as they are always available to talk to. Her organisational skills mean that things are done efficiently and in time, is straightforward as a manager and above all easy to have a laugh with!”
Fire Extinguisher Award – every team has one – a colleague who simply just gets on with their job whatever the task and delivers each and every time. Crisis – what crisis? They calmly deal with whatever comes their way and get the issue resolved. Mr or Ms Reliable – this award is for you.
The winner of this award is Jesús, Veterinary Surgeon at our Failsworth surgery.
“No matter what the situation he will just crack on and will always be a positive attitude to work with. He always has time to help others and teach people no matter how busy he is.”
We even had an award for the best staff pet!
Best Staff Pet Award – Which pet stands out from the rest? Are they the best behaved, the most beautiful, or do they have the waggiest tail?
The winner was office cat Tofu, whose owner is Amber, a Lab Technician at our Failsworth surgery. He was chosen because of his back story. He needed life-saving surgery, which brought all the vets at our Failsworth surgery together to treat him. Now he’s back to his happy self and enjoys spending his days cheering up people with a cuddle when times get a bit stressful.
We’d like to say a massive well done and congratulations to all of the winners – and also to everyone who received a nomination. We’re super proud of our Animal Trust team!
